Three years ago my son, Sam, was diagnosed with autism.  It was quite a blow to hear that about my child, but my husband and I immediately learned all that we could about his diagnosis, and we got him the help that he needed.  Since then my son’s life has consisted of a lot of therapy; speech therapy, occupational therapy, music therapy, social skills therapy, and behavioral intervention at home.  Sam has worked very hard, and as I write this today, it marks the very first time I told my son that he has autism.
