Why ATOU is important to me:
Working as a School Psychologist for 9 years and currently a Program Specialist for the last three years I have seen the importance of building awareness and understanding around the topic of disabilities with both students and adults within schools. A Touch of Understanding is the only program that I have ever seen that has been able to achieve this goal with such a large number of students, within a short period of time and with a high degree of effectiveness. Having done this type of work individually I can attest to how difficult this is to do, and I support ATOU because as an organization it is done so well. I believe that it is only a matter of time until A Touch of Understanding and its message reaches a much larger state and national audience.
